Vanessa Golub overshadowed the fight of the century

However, no one can deny that it was a spectacle. Starting with five years negotiantions and ending with Mayweather win with some bitter remarks about the opponent and speculation will the rematch ever happened. When revenue is between 300 and 400 million euros (accordig to early estemates), when so many famous people were involved, when so many journalist attended...it must have been interesting.

One of the persons who were closest to the action and two main characters is Vanessa Golub, American model and this time one of four ring girls. Many of the fans said that she, and the other three girls were only true success of the fight.
„Hahaha...Yes, I've read the stories. The other Tecate girls (sponsor of the ring girls, Mexican beer) and I have received many tweets and Instagram comments that we were the only good thing about watching the fight. It was unfortunate that the fight was so uneventful !!!, says Vanessa for interview for Serbian Broadcasting Corporation."
Vanessa, have more people ask you how to get a ticket for Mayweather-Pacquiao or for your phone number?
„No asked for either! But I did have hundreds of people ask me for a photo with them."

How exhausting was to be part of it because of so many promotional events you had to attend?
„It was so tiring. I got back to my room and couldn't even keep my eyes open. The worst part was how bad my feet hurt from wearing platform heels all day with barely any breaks."

And you had to be on top looking absolutely great all the time, right?
„Wasn't even possible to feel like I looked great all the time. About 3 hours into the day I already felt like I needed to redo hair and makeup."

How long was the day of the fight? When you were up and when working hours finished?
„I was up at 8am to get ready, then we did the local Vegas news (fox5) all morning. From there went straight to the event for photos with fans and the main event. I don't think I got home until 9pm."

Were you at any point talked to Mayweather or Pacquiao?
„No! There were surrounded by their entourage 24/7. The Tecate girls were supposed to be "flanking" the fighters at all times due to sponsorship. The people the fighters were with made that very difficult. „

Were they acting as a stars or as a normal, ordinary, modest people? Well, I know it is crazy to ask that about Mayweather, but who knows, maybe in private he is different.
„They both acted exactly how they did on all interviews you saw that week. I actually felt Mayweather seemed more humble than normal."

Who did you like more?
„Now that the fight is over, I can say I honestly was hoping for Pacquiao to win. I live in Manila part time so have a connection with the Filipino culture and people."

Are you allowed to say who you were cheered for?
„No, during that week we were not allowed to disclose who we wanted to win."

When was the moment you realized you are part of the biggest event in the boxing history, one of the biggest in sport? Can you remember some of the events, detail, moment.that showed how big is?
„I felt it even before I left for Vegas. The reactions I got from people who I would tell made me feel like it was a HUGE deal. „

Maybe that now people recognize you from all part of the world?
„Yes this too! But I doubt people will recognize me without my uniform on :)."

I know what people would be interested in, apart from your phone number, how much are girls paid for such events, if that is not a rude question.
„I probably shouldn't say an exact amount, but because there are SO many girls that would do it for very little due to the exposure involved, it's likely less than you would assume unfortunately."

You are aware that your photos circled all over the world.that your face is more famous then ever before?
„Fun to think about! But like most events, people soon forget!"

Maybe it is true, but after all, people seem to remember the ring girls longer then fight itself.

Vanessa Golub was picked amogong 1500 girls as ring girl for Mayweather, Jr vs Pacquiao boxing fight which included many promotional events. Girls were wearing Tecate uniform all the time. (Tecate beer beat Corona biding for general sponsor of the fight paying, according to ESPN 4,9 mil euros). Vanessa is from Russian Jewish origin and graduated with her bachelors degree in Communications, and did marketing for a couple years after college.
„I made the decision to start modeling when I knew it was something I would always regret not giving and honest shot. I'm very glad I did!"

She was modeling for Maxim, Sports illustrated and many more magazines.

„I really plan to go where life takes me. I am very happy with how far I've come in my modeling career, and also look forward to becoming a wife and a mother someday as well."
